The faux leather has a nice sturdy feel, not that cheap plasticky stuff, and the 18" x 11.5" size fits my laptop plus a change of clothes for the gym. The side pockets actually hold a water bottle without it falling out, which was my issue with my last bag.
The separate velour sunglass compartment is genius, no more scratched lenses rattling around loose in my bag. It holds way more than it looks like it should too, and the faux leather has held up fine through a rainy commute.
I was worried the faux leather would look cheap, but the stitching and finish are surprisingly solid for the price. The side pockets fit my water bottle perfectly, and the backpack holds its shape even when I've got it packed full for work.
